In the heart of the Isothermal Weather Belt – what’s that you say? It’s a temperate weather region that tends to have a little better weather than its neighbors, a little cooler in the summer, a little warmer in the winter - Bostic is situated to take full advantage of the great four season climate. Along with the good weather, we have some nice resources Isothermal Community College’s Spindale Campus is one. Besides being the go to community college for Rutherford County students, it’s home to an entertainment venue, The Foundation Performing Arts Center. The campus also includes an eclectic radio station, WNCW, that, according to, is listened to by folks around the world.

Rutherford County has 7 towns and one village. Bostic is one of the smallest towns, lacking a single red light, it’s so small you can roll in and out without realizing it, but for the signs. The larger towns, Forest City, Spindale and Rutherfordton make up the Tri-City area. Our small towns share one movie theatre, one Lowes, one Fatz, one super Walmart, one Staples, one Bojangles, and a host of charming Main Street shops.

Facebook has located in nearby Forest City and is attracting some small tech startups to the area. The Tryon International Equestrian Center is just up the road and in 2018 will host the World Equestrian Games. If you enjoy being outdoors you might want to venture out on your bicycle, there’s an expanding rails to trails track. The Thermal Belt Rail-Trail is about eight miles long and will eventually run about 13 miles This merges with the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail for Revolutionary War enthusiasts. If you like, you can jump on and hike more than 50 miles.

Outdoor devotees love the area. It’s convenient to biking and hiking and over at the South Mountain State Park, fly fishing, river running, floating, and new to the area zip lines.
